Sorry for the late reply, yes, it is very safe for couples . We were here, two couples, and we didn’t have an issues at all.

Ideally yes you would. There is a ring road around the lake, approx 22 kms in length and there are many other points to visit as well.

From Pune, take the Pune-Nashik road (NH# 50) upto Ghargaon. From Ghargaon, take left on the SH# 21 driving upto Bhandardara. At Kotul, SH# 21 turns slightly left and becomes SH# 44 which takes you to Bhandardara.

Cab service cost us around 1k for an entire day. The cabbie took us to all the spots at Bhandardara.

Decided to clean my bike before we left but the water ran out the moment I opened the tap. What luck! Cleared our food and drinks bill and we left for Mount Abu. One small note though: the food at Durga was actually pretty good. Only veg but good nonetheless.
